SHERBROOKE - McGill junior David Faille of St. Hilaire, Que., broke a 20-year-old school record at the Vert & Or Invitational track and field meet in Sherbrooke, Saturday.
Faille ran the 60m sprint with a silver-medal winning time of 6.83 seconds. He bettered the school record of 6.96 set by Earl Haughton in 1986 and equaled by Faille last month.
McGill placed fourth overall, winning three silvers and a bronze.
Teammates joining Faille on the podium included second-place finishers Adrian Walton (1000m, 2:33.03) of London, Patrick McAuliffe (1500m, 4:06.43) of Seattle, Wash., and Montrealer Maxime Beaumont-Courteau (high jump, 4.40m).
The lone bronze went to former Redmen basketball player Keith Esch (high jump, 1.92m) of Lake George, N.Y.
The next meet is scheduled to be at the University of Vermont in Middlebury.
