MONTREAL -- Maryse Dubreuil of Montreal and Aaron White of Trenton, Ont., are the McGill athletes of the week for the period ending Feb. 19, 2006.
Dubreuil, a physical therapy sophomore on the Martlets track and field team, won gold and silver medals and set a school record at the McGill Open track meet held at Richard Tomlinson Fieldhouse, Saturday.
The 21-year-old sprinter ran leadoff on the winning 4x200m relay squad, which finished in one minute, 44.04 seconds. She also placed second in the 300m race with a McGill record time of 40.26 seconds, erasing the previous mark of 40.68 set by Troye Carrington in 2004.
White, a 19-year-old sprinter on the Redmen, won a pair of gold medals at the McGill Open track meet. A 6-foot-, 185-pound physical education sophomore, he captured the 300m in 34.50 seconds and anchored the winning 4x200 relay, which was timed in 1:29.86.SOURCE:Earl Zukerman
