MONTREAL - David Faille of St. Hilaire, Que., is the McGill University male athlete of the week for the period ending Jan. 14, 2006.
Faille, a 5-foot-9, 170-pound sprinter with the Redmen track & field team, broke a 20-year-old McGill record at the Sherbrooke invitational indoor meet, Saturday.
The 22-year-old physical education junior ran a silver-medal time of 6.83 seconds in the men's 60-metres, destroying the old McGill mark of 6.96 seconds set by Earl Haughton in 1986 and equaled by Faille at another meet last month.
